Terms of use

1. The service

SentrueFile provides free tools that work in your web browser to create, convert, combine, split, organise and compress PDF and image files. No account is needed. The tools process your files on your own device; we never receive them (see our privacy policy).

2. Your files and your responsibility

• You keep all rights to your files. We claim no rights over them - we never receive them.
• You must have the right to use and change the files you open with our tools.
• You are responsible for checking the results before you rely on them - for example, that every page is present, in order and readable, and that a compressed file is still clear enough for its purpose.
• Keep your original files. Our tools create new copies and never change your originals.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the site to break any law or to infringe anyone's rights;
• try to disrupt, overload, probe or bypass the security of the site or its servers;
• use automated means to access the site in a way that burdens it, or to copy its content in bulk;
• copy, frame or resell the site or present it as your own.

4. Intellectual property

The SentrueFile name, logo, design and written content are owned by Sentrue Labs and protected by copyright and other laws. You may link to the site and use the tools for personal or business purposes.

SentrueFile includes open-source software, used under its own licences. Those licences and the authors' copyright notices are listed on our open-source licences page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.

5. Advertising and other websites

The site may show ads and may link to other websites. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content, products or practices of advertisers or other websites.

6. Availability and changes

We may change, pause or remove any tool or part of the site at any time, for example for maintenance or security, and without notice. We don't guarantee that the site will always be available or error-free.

7. No warranty

The site and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge, without warranties of any kind, express or implied - including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that results will meet a particular requirement, such as a portal's file-size or format rules, though we try to make that easy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sentrue Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, business or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to USD 10. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
